looking for dancers / performers

For a new mobile production for young audiences we are looking for dancers / performers from the fields of tap dance, contemporary dance, break dance, hip hop, performance, new circus and other fun genres from Leipzig or the surrounding area.

about the production

Was wenn…?! is a fast-paced, witty dance piece about the boundlessness of possibilities. It explores inner freedom and
the quest to find one’s own direction in a labyrinth of options.

The production includes dialogue, preferably in German, and will be presented in classrooms and third places as well as small venues. It is intended primarily for youth and young adults. 

Rehearsals will take place in Leipzig, Germany, starting August 17, 2026. Performers will receive a project-based employment contract for a production period of at least 8 weeks, possibly more depending on funding. The final decision on the duration of production depends on a pending funding decision and will be made at the end of June. Minimum duration is August 17 until October 11, but we hope for up to 4 additional weeks for performances in the region.

We expect to be able to share all production details, including salary and dates, before the audition workshops and will send them by email to those who applied.

what we are looking for

  • You are a technically strong performer and have excellent stage presence. 
  • You have strong musicality, you enjoy practising rhythm, feel good about counting, and are able to lock in with a groove.
  • You can see yourself in a mobile production, including performing in classrooms and non-traditional performances spaces.
  • You feel absolutely comfortable with improvisation and all sorts of creative explorations in the choreographic process. 
  • You are a true team player and can help foster an ambitious yet friendly and supportive work environment.
  • You feel comfortable using your voice (talking, singing, whatever…) on stage. 
  • Gender, age, color, size, „type“, or whatever else does not matter.

There will be two audition workshops: one on Saturday, July  11, and one on Wednesday, July 15, in our rehearsal studio in Leipzig-Wahren. Participation is by invitation only. Please let us know, which of the dates you prefer.

Please note that for budget reasons, we can only accept applications from performers based in Leipzig or the region.
