looking for dancer / performer

For a new production for young audiences we are looking for a dancer / performer from the fields of contemporary dance, break dance, performance, new circus or tap dance.
We are specially looking for dancers that are Leipzig-based.

about the production

Schuh-Bi-Du is a piece about curiosity and encounters. It is our first production aiming for young children from the age of 3. 

Rehearsals will take place in Leipzig, Germany, starting September 2024. End rehearsals and performances will be at  LOFFT – Das Theater in October 2024. About 10-15 additional touring dates are planned for November 2024. Dancers will receive a project-based contract. It is mandatory that all dancers are fully available during rehearsal and performance dates.

Rehearsal dates are:

  • September 09 – September 13  
  • September 23 – September 27 
  • September 30 – October 4 
  • October 21 – October 25 

confirmed performances are:

  • Tue, 29. October (LOFFT)
  • Wed, 30. October (LOFFT)
planned touring dates are:
  • Idar-Oberstein: 04. – 08. November
  • Bernburg: 11. – 14. November
  • Staßfurt: 18. – 21. November
 

what we are looking for

  • You are a technically strong performer and have excellent stage presence. 
  • You have strong musicality, you are familiar with musical terms and counting, and are able to lock in with a groove.
  • You feel comfortable with improvisation and creative tasks in the choreographic process. 
  • You are a dedicated team player, used to taking responsibility, and confident even in times of high pressure.
  • You feel comfortable using your voice or singing on stage (not solo) and enjoy exploring new ideas in a cross-genre production. 
  • Gender, age, color, size, „type“, or whatever else does not matter.

There will be an audition on August 1st, 2024 in our rehearsal studio in Leipzig-Wahren. Audition is by invitation only.

Please note that for budget reasons, we can only accept applications from Leipzig-based performers.
