Inhalt

Caboom is a dance about chaos. About the fears and insecurities that chaos creates. But also about adventures and opportunities that arise from chaos.

Caboom was our first production. We reinvented ourselves as a company with it, took our ideas of tap dance apart and reassembled them. It was a bit terrifying, but it inspires us to this day.

Five years after the premiere, the content and choreographic starting points are still as valid as they were then: navigating chaotic circumstances marks our times. That’s why in 2022 we made the revival of our classic an update, in which we made everything more pointed, musically precise and arranged for a large cast.

Caboom is raw and unpolished, demanding 150% commitment and celebrating the sound of tap like no other of our pieces.

Press

“A terrific evening. The new piece of the Sebastian Weber Dance Company will overthrow pretty much every image you might have of tap dance in advance.”
Katharina Stork, Leipziger Volkszeitung
“[...] whether it's minimal steps at the beginning and end, expansive, intense outbursts in between, or the two-person stories that tell only with bodies and maybe a bit of facial expressions.”
“This is full of dedication and energy, precision and good ideas. It's furious, rousing and, by the way, quite excellent.”
Franziska Reif, Kreuzer
“The Sebastian Weber Dance Company can apparently work magic, so perfectly do they master their craft.”
Torben Ibs, tanznetz.de
